James Romig, composer x BLCMS Ensemble
The BLCMS Ensemble will present the U.S. premiere of James Romig’s Fortna for guitar, bass clarinet, violin & string bass. Mr. Romig, who is a faculty member at Western Illinois University, will be in attendance to speak about his composition. The BLCMS String Quartet (Jeffrey Phillips & Alicia Maiz Alonso, violins; Kylie Little, viola; James Ellis, cello) will perform Harmony X from John Cage’s 44 Harmonies from Apartment House 1776 in addition to the inspiration for Cage’s piece “Is there not an appointed time?” by James Lyon. 9|2

An exciting collaboration between composer Daniel Pappas and the BLCMS Ensemble culminating in a world premiere performance of Pappas’ newly commissioned piece Present Tense for the BLCMS Ensemble.
